Coming to America

I came to America when I was 13 years old and it was difficult. First of all, my grandmother lives in Dominican Republic so I was very sad when I left her. Then, she gave me my favorite food and she cried when I said "good bye grandma". Secondly, I didn't speak English so it was very hard for me to read and pronounce the words. I didn't understand anything in the class because I didn't speak English Finally, all my friends live in the Dominican Republic and I had to leave them. When I came to U.S. I didn't know anybody so I had to meet new friends. In conclusion, there are some reasons that explain why it was difficult for me when I first came to America.
